Rainbow lodge and Resolution Guide Service: Located right on the banks of the San Juan River, just downstream from the town of Navajo Dam, New Mexico. We are the only lodge on the banks of the San Juan River in the public water area.  >From our lodge you can walk out the back gate and have access to over 6 wonderful miles of the San Juan River with uninterrupted access and no rod fees. Summer dry fly fishing on the San Juan River is great right out back!   We are also the only lodge on the San Juan River offering an extensive choice of other rivers in the area to fish. We are permitted and licensed on well over 100 miles of other PRIME trout holding water in the area, for both float trips and wades.  Our guide service is also under special USDA Forrest Service permits to guide in the southern part of Colorado just north of the lodge, on the headwaters of the San Juan River and 9 other rivers and creeks.    We are the only lodge in the area that has a professionally trained chef on property. Put all this together with well over half a century of combined guiding experience and you'll see why we are the only call you'll want to make.

Lodging on the San Juan River: One of the newest lodges on the banks of the San Juan River in New Mexico, we offer fabulous accommodations. Our lodging is set up as suites, each with two bedrooms and a private bath.  Each suite is beautifully decorated and has a spacious living room with couch and recliner chairs as well as satellite television, phone,   mini refrigerator and dry bar. They will each sleep 4 very comfortably.  All of the rooms at the lodge are non-smoking, but smoking areas are available outside the rooms.

Meals on the San Juan River: We understand that the fishing is just part of the overall experience! Our  Executive Chef Brad Neuendorf is here to please! Here are a few of the menu selections you might enjoy this summer!

Duck Taquitos with Queso Fresco, followed by Rock Shrimp over Corn Cakes with Chipotle Coconut Sauce, then can you imagine Steak and Potato Stuffed Poblanos served over Black Bean Puree with a Mushroom Tamale and Tomato Butter.   Finish off your night with a cup of our custom blended and roasted coffee and a thin slice of Mexican Chocolate Torte. We try to give everyone a little taste of New Mexico one night.

White Bean Dip with Pancetta & Herbs fresh from our herb and vegetable garden. Then join us in the dining room for Steamed Mussels with Coriander  and allow us to blow you away with our Porter Braised Short Ribs with Whipped Sweet Potato and Fried Brussel Sprouts. Finish off your night with a hot cup of our custom coffee and enjoy a Grapefruit & Pomegranate Tart .

We also serve the best in-house cut Ribeye Steaks on the River!

 Guide services on the San Juan River: We have assembled the strongest guide service the San Juan River has to offer.   We have guides on the river close to 365 days a year!  Some of our guides have been working the Juan since 1988. My wife and I are very proud of the team of diverse guides that we offer here at Rainbow Lodge.    We believe in matching the client to the guide in order provide the most instructional and productive or laid back day of fishing possible.

 We also offer by far the most extensive choice of rivers to fish of any lodge in the area.  We guide primarily on the San Juan but also offer our guests floats on over 100 miles of other rivers in the area from the upper San Juan River near Pagosa to the Animas in Durango, Colorado and the Rio Grande near Southfork, Colorado.  Add the fact that we are under permit from the USDA to guide wade trips in dry fly heaven on nine creeks and the upper San Juan above Pagosa and you'll soon see that you could fish for five days and never see the same water twice.  We also guide Navajo Lake for carp, smallmouth and pike on the fly as well as spin fishing trips for bass and pike.   We are the only lodge with a full time guide that is also a licensed US Coast Guard Captain.
